1. Donations are generally final
Donations are voluntary contributions to a charitable trust and are usually applied to our programmes soon after we receive them, so they are generally not refundable. We do refund donations made by mistake, as explained below.
2. When we refund
- You paid the same donation twice (duplicate payment).
- You paid a wrong amount, for example an extra zero.
- A payment was made from your account without your authorisation.
- A technical error on our side caused an incorrect payment.
3. How to ask for a refund
Email info@jansevapratishthan.org within 15 days of the donation, with your name, the date, the amount, the UPI / bank transaction reference (UTR) and the reason. We will confirm the details with our bank records and reply within 7 working days.
4. How refunds are paid
An approved refund is paid back to the same bank account or UPI ID the donation came from, usually within 10 working days of approval. We do not refund in cash or to a different account. Bank charges, if any, are not refunded.
5. 80G receipts
If an 80G receipt was issued for a donation that is refunded, the receipt is cancelled and the donation is removed from what we report to the Income Tax Department. You must not claim a deduction for a refunded donation. Once we have filed our donation statement (Form 10BD) for the year, refunds may not be possible.
6. Cancelling a monthly donation
We do not deduct money automatically: each monthly donation is a separate payment you make. To stop, simply stop making the payment; you may also tell us at the email below so we stop sending reminders.
7. Events and other payments
Our events and the pledge are free. If an event ever charges a fee, its cancellation and refund terms will be stated when you register.
