1. Who we are

Janseva Pratishthan Foundation ("the Foundation", "we", "us") is a public charitable trust registered under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882, with its office at 3, Ground Floor, Patil House, Bunder Road, Versova, Andheri (West), Mumbai - 400061, Maharashtra, India. We decide why and how the personal details collected on www.jansevapratishthan.org are used, and are responsible for them under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

2. What we collect

We only collect what you type into a form on this website:

  • Contact form: name, email, phone number (optional), subject and message.
  • Volunteer form: name, email, mobile number, city, area of interest, availability and message.
  • CSR partnership form: company name, contact person, email, budget range and focus area.
  • Event RSVP: name, email, mobile number and the event.
  • Newsletter: email address.
  • Donation form: amount, frequency, cause, payment method, name, email, mobile number, PAN (optional, needed for the 80G receipt) and message.
  • Reviews: name, role, rating, title and comment.
  • Nasha Mukt Bharat pledge: full name, organisation (for organisation pledges), age, gender, state, district, PIN code, mobile number, email and language.
  • With every form we also record the date and time and your device's IP address, to stop spam and abuse.

3. How we use your details

We use your details only for the purpose you gave them for. We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

  • To reply to your message, process your volunteer, CSR or event request, and keep you informed about it.
  • To record your donation, match your payment and issue your 80G tax receipt.
  • To verify your email with a one-time password (OTP) and issue or re-send your pledge certificate.
  • To send the newsletter, only if you signed up for it.
  • To show your review on the website, only after we ask for and receive your consent.
  • To keep the website secure, prevent spam and meet our legal, tax and audit duties.

5. Who we share it with

Your details are seen only by the Foundation's authorised team. To run the website we use these service providers, who process data on our behalf and may store it on servers outside India:

  • Supabase: the database where form submissions and pledges are stored.
  • Vercel: hosting for this website.
  • Brevo: sends OTP emails and forwards contact form messages to our inbox.
  • Zoho Mail: our organisation's email inbox.

7. How we keep it safe

No system is completely secure. If a breach affecting your data happens, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.

  • The website is served only over HTTPS, so data is encrypted on the way to us.
  • The database can be read only by the website's server, not from the public internet.
  • OTP codes are stored only as one-way hashes and expire in 10 minutes.
  • Access is limited to the people who need it for the purposes above.

8. How long we keep it

We keep your details only as long as needed for the purpose you gave them for, then delete them. Donation and 80G receipt records are kept for as long as tax and trust laws require. Pledge records are kept so you can download your certificate again later; ask us to delete yours at any time.

9. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
  • correct, complete or update it;
  • delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it;
  • stop using it, by withdrawing your consent;
  • name another person to exercise these rights if you die or cannot do so yourself.

10. Children

Our forms are meant for adults. A person under 18 may take the Nasha Mukt Bharat pledge only with the agreement of a parent or guardian, which the pledge form asks for. We do not use children's data for tracking, profiling or advertising.

11. Cookies and browser storage

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, or any analytics service. It saves only your light / dark theme choice in your browser's local storage, so the site looks the same on your next visit. Links to WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, X and other sites take you to services with their own privacy policies.

12. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change, and the date at the top will show the latest version. If a change affects how we use details you already gave us, we will ask for your consent again where required.

13. Contact us and grievances

For any question, request or complaint about your personal data, write to our Grievance Officer at info@jansevapratishthan.org or call +91 94561 23327 (Monday – Saturday: 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM IST). We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
